Emergencies can happen at any time. Are you ready when a disaster strikes? Even a small disaster can send you into a tailspin and a large disaster can leave your family wondering what they'll be eating.
Water is something you should always have on hand and in my video I talk about a freeze dried food company called Thrive Life. Thrive foods are nutritious and delicious! This is important because you want foods that taste good and that you can eat on a regular basis. I know some of you are thinking MREs. Don't worry, Thrive Life freeze dried foods are not MREs or taste like them. My husband can vouch for that personally! He's eaten way too many of them in the military!
If you are prepping for emergencies, you should always be rotating your food. Even though our cans last up to 25 years, food storage rotation is a good thing. This makes sure you know what you have available, what your favorites are and to know what you meals you like to prepare with the foods.
It might sound funny because when disasters happen, it's stressful. The last thing you want to think about is...I have this can of chicken or ground beef and now what?
We have recipes on our site and you can substitute Thrive Life foods for every day recipes. It's convenient because it's already washed and chopped. The meats are already cooked. All you have to do is refresh (or rehydrate) the foods with water. When you're making a recipe, you just toss in the Thrive Life foods and it refreshes while the meal is cooking.
I mention in my video about having a freezer full of food. While that sounds like a great idea, things happen. Mainly electrical outages can cause your whole full freezer of food to go bad. Also, the freezer itself can just quit working. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to my moms but smelling what I did, I sort of blacked out from that. Now I only wish the smell blacked out as well!
With Thrive Life foods, you don't need to worry about that! The food is freeze dried so it's not going bad during an electrical outage.
One of the reasons that we became Thrive Life consultants was so we could earn a percentage back on our own purchases. The even better thing is that you can eat your consultant kit!
Now comes the question...What should I stock up on?
Some popular items to keep on hand are any of the meats, cheese and dairy products. Don't forget the instant milk too! While Thrive Life ships to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Japan, right now due to customs the dairy products are not being shipped to Canada. Thrive keeps a super close eye on this and when we can, we will!
You'll want to add your products to Delivery, even if they aren't on monthly special so you can save the 15% and get free shipping on Delivery orders $99 or more. We have Flash Sales too! Keep updated on those by subscribing to our newsletter. If you choose, we can even set up your account for you and you'll receive a link within 24 hours to shop.
When you select Delivery, it will have you choose a date in the future. If you want it to ship immediately (I suggest this if you are shopping the monthly specials and especially on the last day of the month), after you save the order, go back in and click Ship Now.
We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so we also stay stocked up on those. Plus the fruit is delicious! The Fuji apples, grapes, blueberries, and strawberries are our favorites! Thrive also came out with a new revolutionary health drink called Ruvi. This is the easiest way to get in your recommended amount of fruits and veggies! The drinks are all fruits and veggies and nothing else! Ruvi is the perfect drink to have in your food storage area for when disaster strikes. It really is the perfect drink for day to day too! I suggest starting with at least an 8 pack to try and see if you have a favorite or just want to rotate through and maximize the nutrition.
Fruits and vegetables are some of those foods we tend to not stock up on because they are either fresh or frozen. With Thrive, we don't need to worry about spoiling!
No matter what, be prepared. Have some food available for you and your family. Keep some Ruvi on hand too. If you have been part of a tornado, hurricane, earthquake or other disaster, you know how crazy the stores get and how empty the shelves are. Just think of small emergencies. You're kids are sick and you can't leave them to go to the store. The was a snow storm and the roads aren't plowed or it's icy and the driving conditions aren't save.
I'll leave you with one last thought, if you like to share with others, think about joining us and becoming a consultant. We have several online groups available for you including a preparedness group that I mentioned in the video. You can choose to become a consultant just to receive the percentage back on your own orders, too. It's a totally flexible plan! Learn more here.
